Department-Sponsored NetIDs

PURCHASE A NETID - It is not currently possible to create a departmental or organizational NetID with email access in the old msu.edu ("Legacy") email system. We are in the process of decommissioning the old email system. Please contact the ID Office at idoffice@msu.edu or 517-355-4500 for information about login-only, non-email NetIDs as well as potential alternatives for handling departmental email address requests.

Activate a NetID

To activate a NetID, a 4-digit PIN is required. Request a PIN. Use the EX number on your PIN letter as the MSU ID number.

Reset a Forgotten Password

To reset a department NetID's password, request a PIN. Use the EX number on your PIN letter as the MSU ID number.

Change a Password

If you want to change an existing, known password, use the current NetID and password.

Disable a NetID

Disabling a department NetID that is no longer needed will deactivate the NetID and end the billing.
